The Homebuyer Tax Credit is scheduled to expire on April 30, 2010. This means that as a buyer, you have less than 60 days to be under contract in order to qualify for the tax credit. There may be people out there that thnik the tax credit will be extended again, but from all sources I have talked to, thi sis not the case.

As I mentioned you have to be under contract before the end of April and you must close the transaction before the end of June. This is a great time to buy as interest rates are still low and supply of homes is still good. The market has been inpeoving over the last several months and reports show that sales are up over what they were a year ago. What does this mean to you as a buyer? This means that your investment in a home should continue to increase over the years to come. Not only should the value of your investment increase, there are also certain tax benefits to owning your home as opposed to renting
