Mistake #1 - Poor Lighting

A house that has a lot of natural light and is bright seems welcoming. A dimly lit home appears glum and sombre.

Perhaps you have a teenager who's painted his walls orange or black. Pink may seem pleasing to you or could possibly be a match with your paintings. While you may like the color scheme in your home it may be a big turn off for a potential buyer.

Why chance it? Don't forget to paint your walls a neutral color, but avoid white because it too often makes the home look uninviting, before you show your home.

Make sure you attend to any needed repairs, such as, applying WD-40 to noisy hinges. Have it fixed beforehand,if any major utilities or equipment aren''t working.

Repair, freshen up  or replace any damaged or old kitchen cabinets and counters. Make sure all tiling has been thoroughly cleaned and shows no evidence of grime or mildew. .
