Questions in "Buying"

I am buying the house I live in via Short Sale. All paper work has been submitted and settlement is at the end of this month. The seller (MY LANDLORD) said if I don't give him $10,000 then he is not going to sell me the house. The mortgage company said I cannot do it because it is mortgage fraud. I explained that to the seller but he does not seem to care. Are there any public documents that would explain why it is fraud and the trouble that I can get into?
Does he have the right to kick me...

I recently purchased a property with two houses on it (432 sf and 520 sf). The Auction Property Profile (which stated its source was "County Tax") represented the property to have two houses on it totaling 952sf and that is what is true. However, the Tax Assessors records only reference the smaller house (432 sf) associated with the Parcel Number.
I am concerned that I cannot sell the property, representing the total 952sf. Or, perhaps the second house was permitted; however, never...

After long, hard and careful consideration as to my dilema in this real estate purchase,
I am (justifiably) still somewhat disoriented and unable to clearly think as to my next move. This is extremely time-sensative and am pleading for some sound advise and guidance. I am currently in escrow for a 1-BR condo as my primary residence and have been in and out of this transaction many times during the past several months. It is no longer a "short sale", having been foreclosed by the bank, purchased

I am looking to buy a modest manufactured home on 1 acre in Alamogordo, Otero county, NM. The asking price is $99,500. The current tax appraisal is $91,000. I viewed the home and agreed to the full asking price pending some apparently minor repairs. Seller is offering a wrap-around owner-financed note. I agreed to the 20 percent down payment. I would be assuming her note for 16+ years. I get back the contract and was told she agreed to everything. Except she adds an amendment that I must

I placed an offer on an apartment based on what the sellers real estate agent told me the exact same size apartment in the same type of condition sold for in the same building. She told me that the other apartment sold for $205,000. I have since confirmed that the apartment actually sold for $195,000. I would not have made an initil offer of $205,00 and increased it to an accepted offer of $207,500 if I had known this. The same real estate agent is now representing both of us. I agreed to this...

We put an offer on a house that is a "short sale". We have been waiting to close since November 2010. We finally had a closing date the first week of February but then the bank said the house could not be sold as a "short sale".
The Real Estate Lawyer and the sellers decided to file a complaint, and the sellers let us move into the house while we waited to see what happened. It's almost May and we've decided this has gone on long enough and we would like to start looking for a different...

We have been considering buying between 5 to 10 acres of land in or near Waller, TX (about 40 mins. northwest of Houston). The purpose would be to lease it out to someone with horses perhaps or for haying, while it sits as an investment. Down the road, we may want to build a house on the land. Would this be a good investment idea and would you recommend it in this...

I have an opportunity to purchase a home that a low income housing that has only 17 yrs left on a resale price restriction. This was done by city/county contract for low income price in a desirable location.
The home can't be sold over this consumer price index. the only reason this is attractive is the home can be set up to have a positive income, and still be a tenant, good/bad decision to...
