Do I have to give seller a copy of buyer's inspection?

I was purchasing a short sale in California, and hired an inspector to do an inspection on the property. After several months, we cancelled the escrow and bought another house. My agent has now asked for my inspection, citing CA law that I have to turn over my inspection to the seller. I paid $500 for it, and don't want to hand it over for free. The escrow wasn't cancelled due to anything on the report, but due to expired time constraints.

Home inspections are optional, although highly recommended. Looks like the agents want a free report for the next buyer. Was your agent the listing agent?
