I was scheduled to close on a property I own in Georgia tomorrow. The closing attorney notified me today that the closing was cancelled because they received notice that a lien was being filed. There has never been any legal action against me in order to obtain a judgement so that a lien can be filed. What can I do to make this closing happen IF the lien has not yet been filed?

I have gone thru divorce. My ex was awarded sole possession of our home, although my name is still on the Title and loans. My ex has not made a pmt on this house since 9/2008 and he keeps asking for modifications, keeping the banks running in circles and delaying having to make any pmts.on the house. I RECENTLY HAD MY WASH MACHINE OVERFLOW. I HAVE WATER DAMAGE TO AT LEAST FOUR ROOMS IN MY HOUSE MAYBE FIVE. I CALLED MY LANDLORD AND REFUSED TO CALL INS.
