I found a home model in a subdivision in Spring, Tx, Harris County, that I want to build my house. The sales manager for the subdivision told me that I would need to get a real estate agent to represent me. Unfotunately, an agent was referred to me by a person who had only worked with her but never used her services. Needless to say that I signed a contract to build a home and used the referred real estate agent.
Am I obligated to keep this agent even though I am vehemently dissatisfied with her lack of service(s)/unsound advice that should be provided to me but isn't? How do I change agents? The builder has not begun to build the house yet and I want to use another real estate agent if it's legall possible. Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

Once you sign the contract you are most likely stuck with the agent. All contracts belong to the broker, not the agent. You have the right to call the agent's broker and complain. He has the option to assign you another agent.
