HELLO,

MY QUESTION IS CAN A MORTGAGE COMPANY RELEASE A MORTGAGE ON A HOME AND THE HOME OWNER OWNS IT FREE AND CLEAR??????????????????????????? I NEED AN ANSWER ASAP. THE JIST OF THE STORY IS LISTED BELOW.

my mortgage company voluntarily released the mortgage on my home, they said the home was mine free and clear . the release has been recorded at the county register of deeds.

i am so much in shock, i cant believe, i have been in contact with a cust rep who has been handling my file. she was the one who informed me of this EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT

I asked her, so when this gets recorded, this home is my free and clear, and you guys cant come after me, for remaining balance , if so choose to sell this home.

she said, no we have no more interest in the home, thats why the release of mortgage was given to you. I ASKED HER AGAIN THE SAME QUESTION, she said maam, once the release of mortgage is recorded the deed / title will be in your name only. THE HOUSE IS YOURS

i didnt believe it until i actually called the record of deeds office and they confirmed that yes indeed , The mortgage has been released, and your name is the only name on it

Seriously though............. how did this come about?
It sounds like you had not paid off the house and there was a remaining balance
so how or why did they release the note?
