Hello, my husband and I purchased a home several years ago. Since then he has passed away. I am remarried and would like to buy a new home with my new husband. I am not on the note, only on the deed to the house my first husband and I purchased. Am I responsible for this house now? Will it effect my credit if I give it back to the bank? Can I purchase another home without it causing problems? The mortgage company will not speak with me since I'm not on the note, they will only speak to my father who is executor of my first husband's estate (there is nothing in the estate now). I have spoken to a realtor to try to sell the house but it seems we would only "break even". Do I try to sell the house or just walk away from it? I currently have renters in the house also.

Thanks in advance,
Amy
